Tofu dessert in ginger syrup - Tàu hũ nước đường

I do not remember when my love for this light delicious dessert started but I know that I could eat this dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Back then when Grandmother was still alive she always said how tasty it was to bite into a slice of ginger that was soaked with the syrup.  I could never feel the taste the way she described.  Now every time when I chew the ginger the memory comes back to me as if my grandma was still around and  I can tell the sweetness of the syrup, smell the fragrance of the ginger and a little bit of the bitterness...I miss my grandmother dearly.
